Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to specialise in expert witness and dispute resolution work?
Our client is a highly regarded consultancy with a dedicated Quantity Surveying - Expert Witness division, providing independent, objective advice in complex construction disputes. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support expert reporting across litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution matters.
You will work closely with senior experts, lawyers, barristers, engineers, and other technical specialists, assisting with the preparation of expert cost reports, quantum assessments, and formal expert opinions. This role suits a QS who is analytical, detail-driven, and comfortable working to strict deadlines in a professional, high-standards environment.
You will be involved in reviewing and analysing complex construction documentation, assessing defects, variations, delays and quantum, and preparing well-structured, impartial reports suitable for legal proceedings. There will also be exposure to expert conferences, joint reports, and hearings as you progress in the role.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor who enjoys technical work, critical analysis, and wants to build a long-term career pathway within expert witness and disputes, rather than traditional delivery-side QS work.
The successful candidate will have the following:
* Relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
* Professional membership with AIQS or an equivalent recognised body
* Strong technical quantity surveying and cost analysis capability
* Solid understanding of construction methodologies, contract conditions, and valuation principles
* Experience analysing variations, defects, delays, and dispute-related matters
* Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, objective reports
* Confidence working independently while maintaining accuracy, integrity, and impartiality
* Strong time management skills and ability to meet strict deadlines
* A professional, ethical approach and strong attention to detail
Previous exposure to expert witness work, disputes, claims or litigation support is highly regarded, but strong traditional QS experience with an interest in moving into this space will also be considered.
What's in it for you:
* A clear pathway into expert witness and dispute resolution work
* Exposure to complex, high-profile construction matters
* Work closely with senior experts, legal professionals, and technical specialists
* Strong professional development, mentoring, and CPD support
* Join a highly respected, quality-driven consultancy with a collaborative culture
If you are interested in the above opportunity and meet the desired criteria, please send your CV to or call Mike on for a confidential discussion.
