Head of Department (Curriculum) - Darling Downs South West Region are looking for a knowledgeable, collaborative and enthusiastic curriculum leader to work with a cluster of small schools in implementing the Australian Curriculum with integrity. You will work across the cluster
of schools as Head of Department (Curriculum) on a temporary full-time basis, until the 3 April 2026, unless otherwise determined.
About the Cluster:
The host school for this cluster is Bymount East State School. The other schools in the cluster are Arcadia Valley State School, Dunkeld State School, Mungallala State School and Yuleba State School.
State and commonwealth funding have established a pilot to trial different approaches to using a HOD-C to support a cluster of small schools. The pilot supports different implementation approaches including virtual support for schools, travelling to schools at different times or a combination of the two. These will depend on the geographical features of the cluster, the needs of the cluster schools, and the flexibility of the successful applicant.

* Lead curriculum areas or whole-school programs to develop and commit to a shared, future-focused educational vision that delivers quality learning outcomes for all students.
* Embed socially just practices and uphold high standards for student achievement and staff performance across all areas of responsibility.
* Engage in ongoing professional learning and demonstrate strategic, forward-thinking leadership.
* Build and maintain effective partnerships with students, parents, government agencies and community groups.
* Manage human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources effectively, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
