Gilmore College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Home Economics Assistant.
Responsibilities
* Support teachers in delivering planned education programs.
* Assist with the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment, including maintaining equipment, materials and resources for classroom use.
* Undertake regular cleaning duties as directed.
* Support the care and supervision of students.
* Work with students individually or in small groups during out‐of‐class activities and school excursions.
* Assist with ordering, stocktaking, and monitoring stock levels.
* Maintain a safe, well‐resourced learning environment with student health and safety as a key priority.
Qualifications and Skills
* Proactive and positive approach, able to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Well organised, able to prioritise tasks effectively, and show initiative.
* Strong computer literacy highly desirable.
* Demonstrated good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with students, parents and teaching professionals.
* Demonstrated good interpersonal skills; ability to work as part of a team.
* Demonstrated good organisational skills that assist in the delivery of effective education programmes to students.
* Demonstrated ability to assist with the general health and wellbeing of students.
Eligibility
* Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
* Valid Working With Children Check before starting.
* Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before starting.
