We are seeking a Registered Nurse with a strong passion for mental health to join our Step-Up Step-Down (SUSD) service in Bunbury. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate with General Practitioners (GPs) to deliver person-centred care to individuals with complex mental health needs.
The role of the Registered Nurse, Mental Health involves providing high-quality nursing care, supporting individuals through recovery-focused interventions, and working within a stepped-care model. Key responsibilities include:
• Conducting comprehensive assessments, including Mental State Examinations (MSEs) and risk assessments.
• Developing and contributing to individualised care plans.
• Administering and monitoring medications in collaboration with GPs and specialists.
• Providing education and referrals to community services.
• Participating in health promotion activities and social inclusion initiatives.
• Contributing to quality improvement processes and ensuring compliance with clinical standards.
About the Service
Our Step Up/Step Down (SUSD) Bunbury service provides contemporary therapeutic mental health care through residential support, for up to 28 days. A range of supports are provided through a multidisciplinary team to help people manage their mental health, avoid hospitalisation, and live well in the community. We offer group, peer, and individualised support designed to build new skills and confidence, helping individuals identify goals and plan for going home. Residents can engage in healthy cooking, mindfulness techniques, art spaces, sensory rooms, and exercise groups, all under the guidance of dedicated mental health professionals available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
