What You'll Do:

As our Project Engineer at Rooty Hill, you will be at the forefront of driving technical innovation and operational excellence by:

* Leading Capital Investment Projects (60%): You will manage capital investments from ideation to completion, including feasibility studies, supporting R&D on NPD and packaging changes, and leading the 5‐step vertical start‐up process. This involves developing high‐standard capital approval documents, providing technical guidance, and expertly procuring equipment and services.
* Supporting Capital Planning (30%): You'll play a key role in the capital planning process by developing project estimates, evaluating feasibility, and compiling and prioritising potential project lists based on input from plant functional teams.
* Demonstrating Technical Expertise (10%): You will apply your deep knowledge of food safety (GMPs, QRO requirements, sanitary design), problem‐solving skills (root cause analysis, CI tools), and core engineering principles (mechanical design, PIDs, thermo, fluids). You'll also ensure adherence to safety standards and possess a strong understanding of plant operations and utility requirements.
* Collaborating for Success: Work closely with internal teams including Manufacturing, R&D, EHS, Quality, and external contractors and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution and integration.

The suitable degree qualified candidate will bring the following recipe for success!

* Education: A minimum degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required, with a preference for Mechanical Engineering and Project Management qualifications (e.g., PMBOK, Prince 2).
* Experience: You'll have 3‐5 years of related experience, ideally within the Manufacturing/FMCG industry, with a preference for food manufacturing experience. Experience in a line leadership role and driving change within an organisation is highly valued.
* Technical Skills: Strong computer literacy (SAP, ERP systems, Microsoft Packages) and a solid grasp of engineering principles, food safety standards, and plant operations.
* Key Attributes:

o Proven change management capabilities.
o Ability to seize opportunities, lead teams, engage with purpose, demonstrate agility, and drive repeatable success.
