Our client is looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Bookkeeper to join their team at their head office in Newstead. Tasks/Responsibilities Bookkeeping and accounts administration for a diverse portfolio of entities, including the principle company, property development, property management, and retail businesses Accounts payable and receivable processing Supplier invoice coding, approvals, and payment runs Bank, loan, credit card, and intercompany reconciliations BAS preparation (GST, PAYG, instalments) for review by external accountant Payroll processing experience to assist with coverage during employee absences Maintain accurate chart of accounts across all entities Maintain and update accounting records and files Provide end-of-month trust account oversight, reconciliation, and compliance review (not day-to-day processing) Review trust account transactions processed by sales / property management staff to ensure accuracy The ability to prepare and complete monthly trust account reconciliations if required Investigate, resolve, and document any trust account variances or discrepancies, escalating material issues to the Director / Licensee immediately The ability to provide guidance to operational staff on trust accounting compliance Coordinate and support external trust account audits, including preparation of reconciliations and responses to auditor queries Manage insurance and licence renewals Key Skills, Qualifications and Attributes Demonstrated experience as a bookkeeper and trust accounts officer in real estate Strong working knowledge of Queensland trust accounting requirements and compliance knowledge of the Agent Financial and Administration Act 2014 (Qld) and the Property Occupations Act 2014 (Qld), Experience in property development accounting HIGHLY desirable Experience handling multiple entities and company trust structures High level of accuracy and attention to detail Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills Proficiency in accounting software, MYOB (desirable) and Excel Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and take initiative to meet deadlines.
