About the job
Reporting to executive management, this role will provide expert, practical safety guidance and uplift compliance across our clients’ sites and QA Electrical locations. You will work closely with senior management and operational leaders, travelling between our locations (including short-duration interstate travel as required).
With a strong focus on engaging and educating our people in safe ways of working and completing the required supporting documentation, you will mentor employees and subcontractors, drive continuous improvement, and help embed a consistent, positive safety culture across the organisation.
Who are we?
We are a safety-first electrical services business founded in 2007 in Geelong, Victoria, now supporting a growing national footprint with teams across multiple office locations around Australia and New Zealand.
At QA Electrical, health and safety are fundamental to how we operate — our approach is proactive, embedded in leadership behaviours, and supported through training, toolbox talks, and robust systems.
We operate in a highly regulated industry and maintain compliance with applicable legislation and ISO standards, with every project supported by comprehensive SWMS and consultation prior to works commencing.
What you’ll be doing
• Provide visible OHS/WHS leadership and support, ensuring leaders and teams understand their responsibilities across safety, wellbeing, and risk mitigation
• Drive consistent SWMS and high‑risk work controls across sites, ensuring documentation is practical, understood and implemented
• Conduct site audits and inspections, monitor performance, and ensure issues are investigated, resolved, and closed out effectively
• Analyse safety performance, generate improvement initiatives, and present safety insights to groups (DWG toolboxes, OHS committees, and management meetings)
• Support training and capability uplift (inductions, coaching, refresher activities), partnering with HR, management and other stakeholders as required
• Update and maintain relevant company policies and procedures
• Support injury management and WorkCover processes (claims and return‑to‑work coordination, and stakeholder management)
• Use company systems (including AroFlo and Monday.com) to support documentation, visibility and compliance reporting
What we’re looking for
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a high‑risk industry (electrical preferred)
• Diploma in WHS/OHS (minimum) or equivalent
• Demonstrated experience managing OHS/WHS across multiple sites and influencing leaders and crews
• Strong working knowledge of SWMS, site audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement
• Confidence in presenting, coaching and building relationships across diverse teams
• While based from Airport West or North Geelong, reasonable availability to travel between client sites and all QA Electrical locations is required
Highly regarded
• Electrical qualification or other licensed trade certification and experience
• Working knowledge of ISO standards and certification frameworks
• Experience using iAuditor, AroFlo, Simpro or similar job/compliance systems
Applicants with a combined electrical qualification and OHS/WHS qualification will be automatically shortlisted.
Why join QA Electrical?
• Attractive salary package
• Required IT equipment and systems provided, including laptop and phone
• A role where you can genuinely influence safety outcomes across multiple sites and leaders
• A genuine ‘safety first’ culture, with structured systems, training and consultation embedded into how we work
• Opportunity to innovate and evolve
Please note: A Police Check and Working With Children Check are required for this role (arranged by the Company).
