Introduction
BWE Drilling is a growing Australian drilling services business providing blast-hole, water-well and exploration drilling solutions to the mining and resources sector. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior Management Accountant to take responsibility for the largest business unit within the group.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this role is critical to providing financial leadership, commercial insight and operational support across the business.

The Role
This position has responsibility for all aspects of accounting and financial performance for the group's largest operating business unit. You will work closely with operational leaders, acting as a trusted finance partner while also supporting selected group-level finance functions.
While the role does not initially have direct reports, it includes elements of team leadership and mentoring and offers the opportunity to grow into a broader leadership position as the business evolves.
Key responsibilities include:
1. End-to-end management accounting for a major business unit
2. Monthly management reporting, analysis and commentary
3. Annual budgeting and periodic forecasting
4. Cash-flow management at both business-unit and group level
5. Job, contract and operational performance analysis
6. BAS preparation and submission
7. Preparation of statutory financial statements for an unlisted entity
8. Partnering with operational teams to support commercial decision-making
9. Driving process improvements to improve efficiency and speed of reporting
10. Contributing to broader group financial performance and initiatives
Required Experience & Skills
11. Proven experience in the mining services or contracting sector
12. Strong management accounting background
13. Very good working knowledge of Xero
14. BAS preparation and compliance experience
15. Budgeting and forecasting experience
16. Experience preparing statutory financial statements for an unlisted entity
17. Cash-flow management experience (business unit and group)
Qualifications
18. CA or CPA qualified
19. Previous management accounting roles within mining services or contracting businesses
