Overview
Multiple BHP Iron Ore sites within the Pilbara region of Western Australia (WAPerth) are based with consistent site visits. We manage all aspects of projects leveraging successful Wharf remediation projects, continuing to grow the BHP Iron Ore portfolio at port and mine.
THE ROLE
Project Management / Delivery
* Manage all aspects of the project including contract management, estimating, programming of work and defect rectification.
* Coordinate direct labour and subcontractors.
* Manage project start‑up, maintain the project schedule and ensure effective handover, including holding regular project management meetings.
* Report on project success, results, progress, and deployment of activity.
* Maintain the project site, premises, plant & equipment.
* Ensure compliance with HSEQ requirements.
Employee Relations
* Foster channels of communication on site to engage with employees to create a positive workforce culture.
* Motivate the project team and ensure accountability to delivering with efficiency and effectiveness.
* Ensure employee performance reviews are completed.
Commercials
* Take ownership of all commercial aspects of the project.
* Manage and analyse project expenditure and duration.
Pre‑Contract
* Ensure professional, high‑quality estimates / tender bid / proposals.
* Engage with clients and internal subject matter experts at pre‑contract stage to understand scope and contribute to the tender process.
About You
* Experience in a similar role within the Mining industry.
* Strong work history on BHP Iron Ore sites with already built relationships.
* Demonstrated performance in project execution from beginning to end.
* Strong ability in contract and project cost control management in the construction / mining industry.
* Contract valuation and project forecasting knowledge.
* Proven Leadership skills and ability to identify and manage teams to their strengths.
* Understanding of all Quality Management.
Desirable Experience & Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Construction Management, or similar.
* Experience with tier 1 contracting companies in the Pilbara.
* Scheduling experience with Primavera or MS Project at a minimum.
* Cert IV OHS.
* Contract Law experience.
