About the role

Our clients are seeking a talented and experienced Regenerative Head Horticulturist to oversee, manage and execute all needs of the Gardens and Lawns while striving to maintain the principles of regenerative agriculture. The ideal candidate will have extensive horticultural experience, can effectively lead a team and is highly organised and wildly passionate about nurturing flora and soil with a focus on sustainable garden systems and regenerative agriculture principles.

Integrated amongst an idyllic 1,000 acre, regenerative cattle farm the owners have created a reawakened Southern Highlands ecosystem on a scale rarely seen. With over 3 acres of biodiverse naturalistic garden areas to engage your passion for organic / regenerative horticulture and gardening practices. The gardens are surrounded by extensive lawn areas which support the farm inputs and productivity.

This dynamic position is much more than your normal gardening or horticultural position and will suit someone who has implemented (or wants to be part of) real change and become a recognised leader/influencer in this area of the industry. You will be involved in new cutting-edge developments into regenerative agriculture principles, carbon farming initiatives, tour groups and training.

Major Responsibilities but not limited to

* Coordinate and execute all aspects of seasonal garden preparation, installation and maintenance.
* Manage day to day operations and supervise Garden Team (full-time and seasonal contractors).
* Work closely with the Farm Manager and consultants to ensure garden materials are composted for paddock and garden nutrition and coordinate compost applications, nutritional foliar and bio-stimulant sprays and ferments.
* Incorporation of integrated pest and weed management (non-chemical use), disease monitoring and irrigation.
* Maintain detailed record-keeping of garden processes; incl. fertiliser application, nutritional spraying, pest monitoring.
* Actively participate in Farm Leadership meetings and initiatives.
* Help collaborate and support the farm's needs outside of core responsibilities; incl. Vegetable beds, orchard, etc.

Education / Experience / Skills

* Horticulture qualifications or experience
* Regenerative or Organic gardening background or formal training
* Ability to manage staff and interact in a team environment
* Knowledge of non-chemical use applications
* Passion for what you do
* Person must be a positive fit for our culture and be willing to get hands dirty as well as lead.

Remuneration and Location

* An attractive base salary will be negotiated (based on experience, knowledge & fit to role)
* Moss Vale, NSW
