Overview
Hunter New England - John Hunter and Maitland Hospitals is seeking experienced and committed Orthopaedic Surgeons to join our team as Visiting Medical Officers.
This role provides the opportunity to deliver holistic, best-practice care to inpatients and outpatients across the Hunter New England Local Health District, with a focus on joint replacements and orthopaedic trauma management.
Responsibilities
Effective clinical management of elective orthopaedic and trauma patients with a focus on joint replacements at John Hunter and Maitland Hospital.
Participation in the emergency roster and treatment of orthopaedic patients at the John Hunter Hospital and participation on the major trauma admitting roster.
Provide education to medical, nursing and allied health staff.
Essential Criteria
Registration as a Specialist in Orthopaedic Surgery with AHPRA.
Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
Fellowship of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.
Training in management of complex orthopaedic trauma.
