The Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) is a well-established mental health service in the Northwest region of Tasmania with a highly skilled and passionate team of clinicians, who are seeking Clinical Nurse Specialists to join our well-supported and diverse team.
We are seeking nurses with experience in assessment, case management, counselling and/or therapy, ideally within mental health or a relevant/related sector. You would be working within a multidisciplinary team to provide developmentally appropriate treatment to children, young people, and their families.
Our Aim:
CYMHS Northwest aims to provide timely access to evidence-based, trauma-informed treatment for children and young people (and their family/carers) who are experiencing difficulties with their mental health that negatively impact their engagement in school, with peers, and other aspects of their lives.
Your Role and the CYMHS Northwest Team:
* Be part of a dynamic and well-supported team committed to delivering high-quality mental health services to children, young people, and their families/carers.
* Undertake clinical services through assessment, case management, and individual therapies, including the development and implementation of specialized treatment programs.
* Work with an amazing and diverse group of clinicians as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, providing support and consultation to other team members as required.
* Supervision, peer support, and ongoing professional learning are part of the culture of the CYMHS NW Community Team.
* Consult and liaise with the broader health system including GPs and other agencies to optimize service effectiveness, efficiency, and continuity of care.
The Area:
* CYMHS NW Community Team has offices based in Burnie and Devonport.
* The Northwest Coast is an area of Tasmania where you have easy access to beautiful beaches, bushwalks, and other recreational activities.
Relocation support is available for successful candidates.
Details of appointment:
Multiple permanent full-time day worker positions, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Salary: $106,570 to $112,440 per annum, with an 11.5% superannuation contribution on top of this amount.
In addition, the following allowances may be available:
* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.
Salary Packaging:
You’ll have access to salary package various benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year.
Benefits available to eligible candidates:
* Payment of $15,000 staged over three years for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full-time for three years or more.
* Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
* Registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess a specialist tertiary graduate or postgraduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification.
* Current Working with Children Registration.
Desirable criteria include:
* Holds or is working towards tertiary qualifications in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Care.
* Current Driver’s Licence.
