Maintenance & Contracts Officer – 12 Month Fixed Term Opportunity
We are seeking a Maintenance & Contracts Officer to join our Maintenance Group for a 12 month fixed‐term role.

Responsibilities
* Manage contracts for the maintenance of and delivery of minor work to our properties and grounds containing civil and electrical/mechanical assets.
* Prepare specifications, assess tenders, commence contracts, allocate work, supervise/report, assess claims and invoice payment.
* Carry out site investigation work, prepare estimates and quotations, and provide necessary documentation and follow up on quotations.
* Monitor expenditure against budget and purchasing approvals.
* Respond to urgent maintenance activities arising from natural disasters or storms.
* Prepare drawings, sketches and specifications, including minor design details, to enable contractors to carry out maintenance work while meeting WHS, environmental and cost requirements.
* Assess suitability of various contractors to perform works in accordance with corporate guidelines.
* Continuously seek improvement in the delivery of minor works and contractor engagement.
Essential Criteria
* Relevant experience in contract management and administration.
* Experience or understood activities related to grounds and property maintenance, site rehabilitation or regeneration.
* Relevant qualifications in horticulture/arboriculture, bush regeneration, environmental management or relevant land management.
* Experience managing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and customers.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, mediation and interpersonal skills.
* Experience working in accordance with WHS & Environmental policies.
* Construction Induction Card.
* Class C driver's licence and ability to tow a trailer.
* Strong contract management, administration and organisational skills.
* Ability to investigate, scope and deliver minor maintenance works efficiently.
* Competence in using computer systems and programs.
* Sound investigative and analytical skills.
* Ability to prioritise and multi‐task a combination of reactive and planned workload.
Desirable Criteria
* Qualifications in contract management.
* Qualifications in chainsaw use including Trim and Cut Felled Trees and Maintain Chainsaws.
* Qualifications in Chemical Application (Level 3).
* Experience with grounds and property maintenance equipment such as mowers, slashers, brush cutters, spray applicators.
* Knowledge of plant, tree and weed species and their management in certain environments.
* Safety compliance tickets including Working at Heights Certificate, First Aid Certificate and/or Asbestos Awareness.
