The Role

Join Macquarie University's Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences in an exciting entry-level opportunity designed to support your professional growth and development.

This is an exciting opportunity in the health and higher education sectors, with a clear pathway for progression. You\'ll gain hands-on experience in a complex financial environment while building specialised expertise in clinical trial finance.

We\'re looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual who are ready to learn and grow.

In this role, you\'ll provide essential financial and accounting support across a diverse portfolio of investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored clinical trials (Phase I to IV), in a high-volume transactional environment. Your responsibilities will include:

* Processing a high volume of financial transactions, including invoicing, vendor invoices and patient reimbursements.
* Tracking and managing trial revenue and expenses.
* Assisting with trial contract reviews and financial setup.
* Supporting month-end financial close and reporting.
* Ensuring compliance with internal policies and clinical trial agreements.

Your role will be vital in ensuring the smooth financial operation of clinical trials. You\'ll be part of a collaborative and dynamic team where priorities shift, and teamwork is essential to success.

About You

You are detail-oriented, organised, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment where accuracy and attention to detail are key to success. With a proactive mindset, you take ownership of your work, follow up on tasks, and ensure priorities are progressed through to completion-while maintaining positive, professional working relationships across teams.

You are comfortable with performing routine and sometimes mundane transactional work, knowing that these tasks are critical for the smooth operation of clinical trials. You value being part of a supportive team and contributing to shared goals.

Your strong interpersonal and communication skills enable you to engage confidently with stakeholders and quickly adapt to new challenges. You\'re motivated by delivering accurate and timely financial support, and you understand the impact of your work on the overall success of the Clinical Trials Unit.
