What is the role?
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and dynamic leader to join the AFP in a role responsible for the delivery of dedicated and specialist end-to-end procurement services.
What will you do?
Band 7
* Lead a high performing team to achieve the AFP's strategic corporate direction.
* Exhibit sound judgement and a willingness to innovate and experiment with different approaches.
* Build a customer-centric culture that adapts to solve complex issues.
* Be forward thinking and self-motivated in driving corporate excellence, with a strong record of building corporate capability and leading people.
* Have excellent stakeholder relationship skills, including the ability to provide insightful, persuasive and trusted advice to a diverse range of senior stakeholders.
* Lead by example, embodying the AFP's values and the inclusive culture to which we aspire.
Band 8
* Senior Team Leader responsible for developing people, managing change and influencing behaviours to create a supportive culture that values diverse perspectives.
* Lead a multi-disciplinary team delivering a centralised procurement and contract management service through a business partner model.
* Provide leadership and strategic direction to achieve organisational outcomes in line with CFO Command priorities, regulatory frameworks, and the AFP Code of Conduct.
* Manage resources, set work priorities, develop strategies and evaluate outcomes.
* Identify and drive performance improvements and measure organisational performance.
* Develop team members and provide support and advice; provide HR and management support to team members and supervisors.
* Build and sustain relationships with stakeholders internally and externally to the AFP.
* Provide sound advice to the business on improving practices; ensure issues in systems and services are addressed.
* Represent Central Procurement Services at inter- and intra-agency meetings as required.

Qualifications and eligibility
* You must be an Australian Citizen.
* A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
* Demonstrated expertise, experience and contemporary knowledge relevant to the role.
* Relevant qualifications or extensive experience in the area of expertise.
* Demonstrated ability to lead a team.
* Demonstrated experience in delivering applicable corporate services.
* Knowledge of government and industry strategic initiatives.

* This is an AFP Band Level 7-8 position.
* The roles are ideally based in Canberra, with consideration for AFP National Office locations.
* Flexible work arrangements are supported; successful applicants are expected to work from the office 2-3 days per week for team connectivity.
