**How will I help?**
The Treasury Data Practice is a new function created to manage data risk as it related to wholesale funding, liquidity, balance sheet, risk management, capital, and securitisation. The team will be accountable for execution of the divisional data plan and data risk strategy to ensure compliance with the information management framework.
In this role, you will manage the Group Treasury data governance framework and the associated data governance processes and be required to run the Treasury Data Council. You will connect with other divisional or Group data governance functions to ensure GT's alignment with Westpac data risk management policy and practices.
Reporting into the Data Practice Lead and partnering with the Analytics and Chief Operating Office functions, some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensure all Critical Group Treasury data is effectively governed
- Accountable for running Group Treasury Data Council with input from all business stakeholders and other divisional forums
- Responsible for the implementation of the divisional data governance framework and its alignment and integration with Group Data
- Build and enhance monthly/periodic reporting and assessment of data governance reports and controls
- Engage across the three lines of defence on all Data-governance related Risks, Controls, Incidents, and Issues across Data Management lifecycle. This includes first line risk, Operational Risk, and Audit
- Develop training plan and training material for Data governance and conduct appropriate training sessions
- Work with the Analytics and COO functions to embed data management activities as part of the operating model to ensure a proactive governance of data risk across any change activities
- Support the Data Practice Lead in updating the Group Treasury Data Plan and driving the execution of the activities across the Data Practice

**What do I need?**
- 10+ years in risk management or governance style roles
- Strong data management experience is highly regarded
- Prior Financial markets or Treasury experience is an advantage
- Ability to understand business architecture and processes.
- Experience in producing high quality risk reporting to Committees.
- Ability to work independently and effectively plan and drive delivery of work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate simply and effectively across all levels of the organisation.
- Ability to interpret risk frameworks and provide practical advice to business stakeholders.
