At our health centre, we are seeking a skilled Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will work part-time on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm at Lavarack Health Centre.
This is an exciting opportunity for a mental health professional to make a positive difference in the lives of military members and their families. As a Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with diverse mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct initial intake and assessment sessions with flexibility to accommodate presenting need.
2. Develop treatment plans that capitalise on your skills, interests, and scope of practice.
3. Manage your caseload, including oversight and case management of externally referred cases and provision of internal treatment to Defence members.
4. Manage crisis presentations, risk assessment, and risk management planning within a multi-disciplinary team.
Required Skills and Qualifications
We are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated individual with excellent communication and listening skills. The ideal candidate will have:
* The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
* Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Minimum 2 years post-graduate experience in mental health in a primary health or specialist mental health setting undertaking comprehensive mental health assessments and delivering a range of evidence-based 'Focussed Psychological Strategies' as defined under the Medicare Schedule.
* Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
* Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.
* Knowledge of relevant State/Territory policies and procedures and national standards governing mental health practice (desirable).
* Knowledge of the ADF Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2018-2023 (desirable).
