Commencing operations in 2025, the Victorian Centre for Advancement in Allied Health (The Centre) will become a recognised centre of excellence for allied health in Victoria and beyond. Under the governance of The Centre's Steering Committee and in partnership with a broad range of stakeholders, The Centre will deliver five key workforce initiatives during its initial three-year term.
We are seeking a Deputy Director Research to join this exciting new team. Reporting to the Director of The Centre, you will play a pivotal role leading the development and delivery of The Centre's broad research strategy, working collaboratively across Victoria to enhance and strengthen allied health research.
You will ensure that all work undertaken by the Centre is grounded in sound research principles, effectively shared through appropriate channels, and positioned to attract additional internal and external funding opportunities.
This is a permanent, full-time role, however requests to work part-time will be considered. The successful candidate will hold a valid Victorian driver's licence to enable you to support your engagement with allied health colleagues across Victoria.
What you'll do
* Lead, implement, and publish the Centre's research strategy.
* Consult and partner widely across Victoria to advance allied health research initiatives.
* Ensure all research activity meets high academic and ethical standards.
* Actively seek and secure additional research funding.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with academic institutions, researchers, and partner organisations in alignment with the Centre's partnering plan.
* Provide leadership on key research projects within the Centre's work plan.
* Support the Allied Health Knowledge and Translation Leads Program.
* Undertake other responsibilities as delegated by the Centre's Director
About You
You are an experienced research leader with a deep understanding of allied health and a strong track record of collaboration, publication, and funding success. You bring strategic vision, academic credibility, and the ability to inspire others to advance research excellence across the allied health sector.
You hold an allied health qualification with AHPRA registration and/or eligibility for membership of your professional association (as applicable to your professional background), have completed relevant professional development and ideally hold a higher degree in a relevant field.
You have proven leadership experience in research strategy, specifically a deep experience in health services research, translation, strategic alignment and academic through relating to workforce. You bring conceptual ideas into outcomes that shape allied health practices and/or workforces a long with demonstrated success in meeting strategic, project and operational objectives. Your stakeholders reflect that you are collaborative, engaging, and dedicated to true co-design.
