Job Title: Chef Assistant
At Minor Hotels, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commis Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team at Oaks Broome Hotel. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items in line with recipes and presentation standards.
* Support the smooth operation of the kitchen during service across the restaurant, events, and room service.
* Maintain kitchen hygiene standards and comply with HACCP and OH&S guidelines.
* Assist in the training, coaching, and mentoring of junior kitchen staff.
* Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management.
* Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service delivery and a positive work environment.
* Adapt to various shifts, including weekends and special events as required.
Requirements:
* Relevant Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
* Previous experience in a similar kitchen role.
* Knowledge of Modern Australian cuisine.
* Understanding of HACCP standards and OH&S requirements.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure in a dynamic team environment.
* Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Willingness to be flexible across a variety of shifts.
