Opportunity to join a team committed to fostering a collaborative environment The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Coordinator, Operations to provide a critical role within the Adult Parole Board Secretariat About the Business Unit The Adult Parole Board of Victoria (the Board) is an independent statutory authority, established under the Corrections Act 1986. The Board provides a framework that enables offenders to undertake a step- by-step re-entry into the community. When deciding whether to release an offender on parole, the Board considers the interests of the community, the rights of the victim, the intentions of the sentencing authority and the needs of the offender. In all its decision-making, the Board's paramount consideration is community safety. The Secretariat comprises departmental staff and provides high-quality operational and administrative support to ensure the Board can complete its functions effectively and efficiently. About the Role The role of a Coordinator, Operations Is to undertake a range complex and high-risk operational work, quality assurance of complex records and support Operations team staff. The role requires the occupant to perform a range of administrative tasks and activities associated with the management and preparation of cases that fall under the jurisdiction of the Board. The role will suit a highly motivated individual who is committed to fostering a collaborative environment, is outcome and solutions focussed and keen to make a difference. About you To be successful in this role, you will have: Sound knowledge of the Corrections Act 1986, Sentencing Act 1991, and the rules and regulations covering the operations of the Board would be desirable. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify and explore systemic operational issues and provide recommendations on solutions to the Manager, Operations Experience in preparing complex correspondence, reports, briefs and papers for consideration of the Manager, Operations and other senior staff of the Board.
