Our client is a global renewable energy developer delivering utility-scale solar and battery energy storage (BESS) projects across international markets. Due to continued growth in Australia, they are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major BESS project through construction, commissioning, and handover.
This is a critical delivery role overseeing full project execution from late-stage development through to operational readiness.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Delivery & Execution
* Lead end-to-end construction delivery of utility-scale BESS projects
* Transition projects from final development into construction, commissioning, and handover phases
* Ensure projects are delivered to schedule, with key milestones achieved through to 2027 completion targets
* Manage coordination between EPC contractors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
* Oversee integration of BESS assets into existing operational solar facilities where applicable
Commercial & Budget Management
* Manage project budgets and ensure cost control in line with project financial objectives
* Coordinate procurement activities with internal teams and manage subcontractor performance
* Support risk management processes, including construction risk identification and mitigation
* Monitor project performance against commercial and delivery KPIs
* Provide strong on-site leadership across construction teams and contractors
* Ensure compliance with Australian WHS standards, electrical safety requirements, and project procedures
* Maintain close coordination with operational teams to ensure minimal disruption to existing assets
* Deliver regular progress reporting on schedule, cost, and risk to senior stakeholders
About You
* Proven experience delivering large-scale renewable energy or infrastructure construction projects
* Strong background in BESS, solar, wind, or similar utility-scale energy projects
* Experience managing EPC contractors and multi-disciplinary site teams
* Strong understanding of construction delivery, commissioning, and project controls
* Commercially aware with experience managing budgets, contracts, and project risks
* Strong stakeholder management and reporting capability (including senior leadership exposure)
* Strong focus on safety, compliance, and delivery excellence
