Advocate for Change in the Cultural Sector
We are seeking a dedicated union representative to join our team in Brisbane. This role is ideal for someone who believes that a thriving cultural sector contributes to a robust civil society and wants to work towards promoting equality at work.
As a member of our team, you will be committed to developing innovative ways to secure fair employment and equality at work by building leaders and collaborating to drive change.
* Main Responsibilities:
o Recruit and maintain members to participate in our campaigns for fair employment
o Build and maintain leadership structures in specific industries to achieve campaign objectives
o Train and develop delegates and leaders
o Negotiate agreements with employers
o Work with members and specialist union staff to plan and execute activities to address group and individual issues in line with campaign objectives
o Stay informed about the legal and policy framework to address workplace issues and work with specialist staff to devise creative solutions to secure campaign wins

Benefits:
The position offers a competitive salary package dependent on skills and experience. Benefits include 12% employer contribution to superannuation, five weeks annual leave each year, one RDO every four weeks, plus an additional three days leave between Christmas and New Year. Salary sacrificing is available.
