The Opportunity:
AIA are currently hiring a Senior Manager – Risk to join their Group Insurance department in either Melbourne or Sydney. Within this role you will act as a first line risk representative and work closely with Group Product, Pricing, Distribution, and Administration teams, as well as Enterprise Risk & Compliance (Line 2 Risk), to embed a proactive and effective risk culture.
To do this successfully you will:
* Develop and deliver the Risk & Compliance Plan for the Group Insurance Office
* Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business
* Own and manage risks within the Business Unit, including control design, implementation, and testing
* Monitor risk profiles, elevate issues, and support root cause analysis and remediation
* Provide risk insights and reporting to leadership, Board, and committees
* Support change initiatives by identifying and mitigating associated risks
* Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements
* Drive continuous improvement and lean thinking across risk practices
* Contribute to third‐party risk management through vendor audits
Successful applications will demonstrate:
* Previous experience within a management role in either Line 1 or Line 2 Risk within Life insurance
* High stakeholder satisfaction and strong internal relationships
* Effective management of issues, incidents, and remediations
* The ability to provide timely and insightful risk reporting
* Experience delivering measurable contributions to financial outcomes, including cost management and productivity
* Exceptional leadership ability, specifically within fostering a strong risk culture
