This role is based at their citrus farm in Emerald, Queensland—a thriving regional centre known for its agricultural productivity and friendly community lifestyle.
The Role
Reporting to the Regional Farming Manager, the Operations Manager will oversee the full day-to-day operations of a citrus orchard, ensuring sustainable horticultural practices and driving high yields and fruit quality. This is a hands-on leadership role with key responsibilities across team management, farm operations, WHS, and compliance.
Key responsibilities:
* Manage all orchard operations including harvest, spraying, and maintenance
* Deliver farm plans and production targets in alignment with business strategy
* Oversee contractor performance and compliance with WHS standards
* Provide on-the-ground training and support to farm staff
* Ensure accurate farm data and recordkeeping, including use of GrowData
* Manage stocktakes, capex input, and farm redevelopment projects
* Maintain strong collaboration with agronomy, WHS, and HR teams
About You
You're an experienced farm manager or horticultural professional with strong leadership and organisational skills. You're passionate about safe, productive farming and bring a practical, people-first approach to orchard operations.
We're seeking candidates with:
* A Diploma or Degree in Horticulture or 5+ years in farm management
* Proven experience in large-scale horticultural operations
* Strong WHS understanding and hands-on team leadership
* Proficiency with farming systems and recordkeeping software
* Strong communication, problem-solving and time management skills
* Working knowledge of citrus or tree crops (desirable)
