About the role

The First Nations Concierge Lead role sits at the frontline of Housing Australia's engagement with First Nations‑led organisations, supporting access to housing finance, funding pathways and partnerships — including through the First Nations Stream of the Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF).

With a focus on guiding, supporting, and coordinating First Nations‑led housing proposals, from early engagement and application readiness through to delivery and outcomes while ensuring culturally appropriate engagement and alignment with client aspirations.

Key responsibilities

* Serve as the primary, front-facing relationship manager for both existing and prospective First Nations-led organisations engaging with Housing Australia from initial engagement through to project development, delivery, and outcomes
* Build, maintain, and strengthen long-term, trust based relationships with First Nations clients, communities, and key stakeholders
* Engage respectfully and effectively with First Nations organisations, recognising diverse community contexts, governance structures, and aspirations
* Assist First Nations people, service providers and clients to understand and access Housing Australia products, programs, and funding opportunities
* Translate complex housing finance, policy, and program information into clear, practical guidance tailored to client needs. Support clients to identify pathways through Housing Australia and the broader housing ecosystem that align with their goals
* Actively problem-solve by connecting clients with relevant stakeholders, including with governments, private sector partners and community housing providers
* Lead and empower a small team by providing strategic direction and guidance to deliver culturally informed outcomes that respect and incorporate First Nations perspectives, fostering collaboration and long-term relationships

Skills and experience

* Strong cultural capability and a genuine commitment to First Nations self‑determination
* Experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander organisations, communities or stakeholders
* Relationship‑building skills and confidence working across complex stakeholder environments
* An understanding of housing, community development, policy, finance or a related field
* The ability to communicate respectfully, clearly and effectively with diverse audiences
* A collaborative, solutions‑focused approach and comfort working in evolving environments

This position willrequire a high level of cultural competency, including:

* understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples
* demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples
* demonstrated capability and commitment to continue to develop cultural competency
