Data Scientist | Spatial Imagery | Large Utilities Organisation
* 6 month contract (multi year program)

Primary Purpose of the Role:
Apply data science and engineering to large-scale imagery and spatial data to support asset identification, vegetation analytics, and infrastructure decision-making, using Azure-based data platforms.
Key Accountabilities:
* Develop and deploy data science and analytics solutions on Azure
* Build and maintain Databricks notebooks and pipelines for large-scale image and spatial data processing
* Process and analyse high-volume imagery datasets for asset identification and condition insights
* Apply analytics and machine learning to imagery, LiDAR, point cloud, and 3D spatial data
* Support vegetation management and growth analytics for utility and infrastructure assets
* Work with structured and unstructured data across Azure Data Lake and related services
* Collaborate with engineers and infrastructure stakeholders to turn analytics into operational outcomes
* Contribute to scalable, production-ready data and analytics pipelines
Selection Criteria:
* Hybrid data scientist / data engineer background
* Strong hands-on experience with Azure data platforms including Databricks and Data Lake
* Experience working with imagery, spatial, LiDAR, or asset-heavy datasets
* Strong Python skills with applied analytics or machine learning experience
* Comfortable operating in utilities or infrastructure environments
* Practical, delivery-focused mindset with production experience
