Forensic Mental Health Care Specialist
Job Summary:
The Forensic Mental Health Care Specialist will provide expert forensic mental health care for individuals and clinical leadership to multidisciplinary staff.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing direct expert forensic mental health care for an individual or group of clients and clinical leadership to multidisciplinary staff.
* Ensuring and providing quality forensic mental health services to children, adolescents, and their families experiencing complex, social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties within a multidisciplinary, interagency team and forensic context.
* Providing services at the Youth Court, Kurlana Tapa Youth Justice Centre, and some after-hours work, including occasional shifts on a Saturday.
* Providing mental health nursing care.
* A registered nurse with at least 3 years post-registration experience who has demonstrated competence in delivering proficient and comprehensive mental health nursing assessment and direct clinical services to children, young people, and their families experiencing complex, acute, or chronic mental illness/trauma or a wide range of emotional and behavioural disturbance.
* Strong clinical skills and knowledge of mental health nursing principles and practices.
