ASO5 - Aboriginal Social & Emotional Wellbeing Worker - Port PirieWomen's and Children's Health Network, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), Port Pirie (5540)Classification - ASO5 - Administrative Services Officer L5 - $85,790 to $95,413 + Superannuation and Salary Sacrifice BenefitsFull time - Term Contract (12-month Contract)About the OpportunityWe currently have an exciting opportunity to join CAMHS as an Aboriginal Social and Emotional Wellbeing Worker, where you will be responsible for:Providing cultural expertise and clinical recommendations for Aboriginal children, adolescents, and their families with mental health issues.Delivering direct expert care for Aboriginal children and their families.Offering cultural leadership to multidisciplinary staff.Addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy.Ensuring culturally responsive mental health care for consumers with complex needs.Promoting cultural safety and undertaking culturally informed engagement, assessment, education/advocacy, counselling, and group work.Engaging in consultation, liaison, and co-work with other CAMHS disciplines, government, and non-government organizations.Applying expert cultural knowledge, skills, and experience to support, orient, and educate staff.Leading and participating in action research projects, quality improvement activities, and policy development.About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:Demonstrated experience in engaging, establishing relationships, having informed discussions with Aboriginal children and young people (their families and significant others) to enable their needs to be metExtensive experience in providing assessment and interventions for Aboriginal children, young people and their families experiencing complex mental health / social and emotional wellbeing difficultiesDemonstrated knowledge and understanding of the cultural, and social and emotional wellbeing issues that impact on Aboriginal child, youth and family health and wellbeing, and the impact of government policies on mental health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communitiesDemonstrate ability to integrate Aboriginal cultural experiences, philosophy and practice particularly as it relates to the provision of social and emotional/mental health services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children, young people and their familiesExtensive experience in providing assessment and interventions for Aboriginal children, young people and their families experiencing complex mental health / social and emotional wellbeing difficultiesWhat WCHN Can Offer YouRelocation financial support may be negotiated, subject to eligibility.
