Lead Enterprise Architect (applications, infrastructure, cloud, integrations, and SaaS) discovery
Lead Enterprise Architect to lead a current-state technology discovery and documentation engagement across enterprise applications, infrastructure, cloud services, SaaS platforms, integrations, identity dependencies, and operational support models.
This role is focused on building an accurate, evidence-based current-state view of the technology environment. It is suited to a practical architect who can work effectively where documentation is incomplete or inconsistent, assess complex environments with confidence, and produce clear, structured outputs for technical and executive audiences.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead current-state discovery across enterprise applications, infrastructure, cloud, SaaS, integrations, identity dependencies, and operational support arrangements
* Develop and maintain a structured application and service inventory, including ownership, hosting model, lifecycle status, environments, support model, authentication method, and key dependencies
* Document how systems interact in practice, including integrations, data flows, authentication patterns, and operational dependencies
* Produce clear and editable architecture artefacts, including current-state diagrams, logical views, integration maps, dependency views, and structured registers
* Consolidate findings into practical, defensible outputs that support decision‐making, assurance activities, and future planning
* Identify and document key risks, unsupported components, orphaned systems, single points of failure, and complexity hotspots
* Work with stakeholders to validate findings and resolve gaps or inconsistencies constructively
Skills and Experience
* Significant experience in Enterprise Architect, Solution Architect, Application Architect, or similar senior architecture roles
* Strong experience in current‐state discovery, technology estate assessment, and architecture documentation
* Broad knowledge across enterprise applications, infrastructure, cloud platforms, SaaS environments, integrations, and identity/access dependencies
* Experience working in complex environments where documentation is incomplete, fragmented, or outdated
* Proven ability to assess technology estates across applications, platforms, infrastructure, and service dependencies
* Strong stakeholder engagement capability, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams
* Strong written communication and documentation capability, with the ability to present findings clearly and practically
Personal Attributes
* Calm and composed in ambiguous environments
* Structured, methodical, and evidence‐driven
* Practical and commercially minded
* Credible with both technical and business stakeholders
* Self‐directed, accountable, and outcomes‐focused
* Able to challenge constructively and maintain momentum
This is a broad architecture assessment and discovery role. It requires strong capability across multiple domains at current‐state assessment level. Specialist support may be introduced separately where deeper domain expertise is required.
