Blackwood Community Child Care Centre is a not-for-profit organisation, which means that any profits generated by the service we provide go back into ensuring a high-quality early education service for children and families.
About the Role
The Assistant Director/Educational Leader works as part of the leadership team to support the day-to-day operations of the centre, ensure compliance and drive ongoing improvement. Specifically, the role supports the provision of high-quality education and care for all children, families and the community by:
* Working alongside the Director to ensure compliance and smooth day-to-day operations.
* Advocating for inclusive, high-quality learning for all children.
* Providing confident leadership in the Director's absence.
* Fostering a supportive, reflective, and growth mind‑set team culture.
* Building strong, respectful partnerships with families and the broader community.
* Working a combination of on-the-floor and off-the-floor provides opportunities to lead improvement and mentor educators while working alongside them and with children.

You are a highly experienced and community-minded early childhood professional with a commitment to community, teamwork, and providing quality care. Your strong understanding of pedagogy and practice, paired with a hands‑on presence in the learning environment supports children's growth and learning every day. Your collaborative approach, purposeful leadership, and passion for making a difference will be central to your success in this role.
You will have:
* An ACECQA-approved Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care
* A strong understanding of the EYLF, NQF, and best‑practice early childhood pedagogy
* Leadership experience in an early learning environment
* The ability to mentor, guide, and inspire educators
* Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
* A reflective, team‑focused, and proactive mindset
* Current WWCC, First Aid (HLTAID012), CPR, and all necessary clearances

Hourly rate from $40.08 + Super + Worker Retention Payment + Educational Leader Allowance
