Following an extensive bidding process concluded in 2024, Yarra Trams is now proudly operated by Yarra Journey Makers (YJM), a joint venture between Transdev Australia and John Holland.
YJM works in tandem with the Department of Transport and Planning, transport agencies and operators to provide a fully integrated, sustainable transport service for the people of Melbourne.About the roleReporting to the Head of Procurement, the Strategic Procurement Managers will drive the development and execution of sourcing strategies to optimise supplier relationships, manage risks, and deliver commercial value across the organisation.
The roles will oversee strategic sourcing, supply market management, contract negotiation, supplier relationship management and commercial governance.
As key business partners, the appointees will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, ensuring procurement aligns seamlessly with organisational priorities.
With an initial emphasis on high-value strategic sourcing, the roles will naturally gravitate towards best-in-class supplier relationship management as the function matures.
There are two roles available leading the portfolios of corporate services and OCMS/IT.About youYou will hold tertiary qualifications, preferably in Law, Procurement, or Commerce and have procurement management experience.
You are proud of your track record of delivering quantifiable results in complex sourcing strategies, category management, contract negotiation and supplier relationship management across either corporate services or IT categories.
Your strong written and verbal communication skills will enable you to engage effectively at all levels of the organisation and with a diverse network of external stakeholders.
