Job Title : Studio Hand
Work Type: Casual/Part Time depending on circumstances.
Location: Torquay
Annual Base Salary: $35-$65 per hour
This is an evolving role and is negotiable for the right candidate. We have a complete, high-quality studio setup featuring brand new Venco equipment and Kilncare kilns.
We are seeking an innovative, highly proactive individual to help grow and lead our on-site classes.
We have the infrastructure in place — the space, the equipment, the contacts and the beautiful light-filled studio. We're now looking for the right person with the passion and initiative to bring the vision to life and help us expand this exciting offering.
The Vision:
Our vision is to cultivate a dedicated community space where potters can develop and refine their skills in a supportive, technically focused environment. While we currently offer beginner classes, our long-term goal is to evolve the studio into a primarily intermediate to advanced learning hub where committed ceramicists can gather, practise, and grow.
The space will host visiting master potters for the weekend and week-long intensives focused on specific techniques and ceramic philosophies, alongside ongoing studio access and firing services for members.
We are ideally seeking someone to oversee the organisation and coordination of the space. This role would include managing clay orders for classes, liaising with visiting master potters, coordinating class scheduling, and supporting the promotion and advertising of workshops. The successful candidate will work closely with the CEO and Operations Manager, who will provide strategic direction and ongoing support.
