Position Information
Georges River College Penshurst Campus (enrolment 488, 78% from a non-English speaking background) is a comprehensive co-educational school. Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach Library (Secondary) or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Library (Secondary) qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.
Demonstrated skills in effectively managing a school library that fosters innovation including the use of technology to assist students in accessing, evaluating and synthesising information for individual and whole school programs.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to create a library environment that is supportive and conducive to encouraging students to develop a love of reading, effective research skills, and study routines.
Highly developed interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work collaboratively within a team to support the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning programs in the library and across the school.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
Special Notes
Applicants are to include details of their WWCC clearance number as part of this application.
If applicable, engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Teacher Library (Secondary) qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education which must be completed within 24 months.
Applicants seeking either permanent full time or permanent part time employment are encouraged to apply for this position. If the recommended applicant is seeking permanent part time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE. Applicants on the eligibility list will be offered the remaining FTE but are not obliged to accept.
