Sutherland Shire Council is seeking enthusiastic and qualified Certificate III Early Childhood Educators to join our Early Education & Child Protection Team. We currently have part‐time and full‐time opportunities, with both temporary and permanent vacancies across our services.
In this role, you will provide compassionate, high‐quality education and care for children from birth to six years, supporting their wellbeing and learning every day.
You'll be hands‐on, engaging with and supervising children, assisting with daily routines and maintaining a safe, clean environment. You'll contribute to engaging, play‐based educational programs tailored to each child's interests and development, while working closely with families and the team.
What You'll Do
* Observe and document children's learning, development and engagement in the centre program.
* Contribute to planning and delivering play‐based learning programs.
* Build supportive and collaborative relationships with families and children.
* Collaborate with colleagues and engage in ongoing professional development.
What You'll Bring
* Completed Certificate III in Education and Care.
* Current First Aid qualification HLTAID010, HLTAID011 and HLTAID012.
* CPR Certification HLTAID009.
* Evidence of Child Protection accreditation i.e. "Identify and Respond to children and young people at risk CHCPRT025".
* NSW Working with Children Check.
* National Foundations of Child Safety Training Certificate (Geccko).
* Sound knowledge of the NQF, including EYLF, NQS and relevant legislation.
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative, professional approach.
Compensation & Benefits
* Hourly Rate: $35.80 gross per hour plus 12% superannuation.
* Package: $70,742 gross p.a. (salary paid pro‐rata for part‐time roles) plus 12% superannuation. The Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) Worker Retention Allowance will also be applied.
* Hours of work: Part‐time and full‐time, temporary and permanent opportunities available. Applicants must be available to work a range of shifts between the hours of 6:00am – 7:00pm.
