Role Description
In this role, you will support Air Force Headquarters in developing the capability management transition of the Joint Strike Missile (JSM) from GWEO to Air Force. Working under direction, you will contribute to the development and implementation of required documentation that underpins the JSM capability management transition. You will operate within an integrated workforce to deliver complex tasks across multiple organisations within Air Force and the broader Australian Defence Organisation (ADO), including but not limited to development of Capability Definition Documents and Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC) systems analysis, capability risk identification and communication, support to any government correspondence. You would be comfortable engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, building effective working relationships and serving as a key point of contact for enquiries and required tasks. This position is full time and required to be onsite at Russell Offices, Canberra.
What's Involved
* Applying knowledge of Air Power, Maritime and Land Strike to inform capability development and understanding the Joint Targeting Enterprise
* Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC) analysis and contribution to the formulation of requirements for the employment of JSM within Air Force
* Supporting the development of high-quality documentation and artefacts
* Develop the Capability Definition Documents for the Joint Strike Missile (JSM)
* Support the development of the JSM Engineering and Governance documentation along with the bespoke system
* Engage with multiple Senior Stakeholders to ensure a collaborative cross domain approach to manage and mitigate risk
* Support Air Combat Capability Branch and the JSM Project in transition activities
* Coordinate the definition of capability milestones and a JSM Material Acquisition Agreement, including definition of Capability Targets States, Minimum Viable Capability, Initial and Final Operating Capabilities
* Capture essential information for the establishment and realisation of the JSM system as a capability, including identification and interpretation of relevant legislation, policies, strategies, business requirements and team needs, and applying these appropriately to tasking
Essential Requirements
* You are a highly experienced CDD Writer who has supported various capabilities.
* You will have the ability to capture essential information for FIC Analysis and be confident in developing a high-quality document suite to support a bespoke system.
* You will have prior experience with 460SQN, Intelligence agencies or supporting Weapons, targeting or EO. Prior Air Domain experience is essential.
* You will be familiar with the Defence application suite and organisational document storage structures.
* You will possess strong written and communication skills and are confident engaging with the project team and senior stakeholders.
* High Level of Service & English writing skills
* Active Negative Vetting 2 Security Clearance - TSPV desirable but not essential
* Air Domain experience is essential
* Capability Acquisition and Sustainment (CASG) and Commercial experience is desirable
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
* Ability to travel if required
