This position exists to support and inform business's strategic and operational decision-making through financial insights that drive optimum financial performance and value creation, and achieve financial targets. The position also exists to support Business Units in making informed decision by providing meaningful data analysis (i.e. unit costing and establishing service price). This position is vital to ensure pricing and unit costing per product, service or program is optimised.
**Responsibilities & Scope**:The Finance Business Partner will report to the Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis and will play a pivotal role in collecting and analysing complex financial information and providing strong financial analytical support to business units and building financial capability via partnering model.
**Financial Data Analysis and Costing Evaluation**:
- Development of costing tools and templates to assist the business units in calculating unit cost to serve
- Development of financial modelling tools and scenario planning to assist business in decision making
- Provide specialist input to business case development and special projects and work with Business Units to drive good commercial outcomes that can be delivered and measured
- Monthly review of various P&L accounts and providing movement analysis and comparison to budget
- Analyse expenses and cost transactions ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and assigned to the appropriate cost centres and business units.
- Provide detailed financial analysis and reports of revenue & expenses including breakdowns of costs, and opportunities to increase efficiency.
- Analysis of unit costing to establish and /or recommend changes to pricing or business models. Prepare periodic cost reconciliation reports, tracking data such as changing labour costs.
**Reporting**:
- Product unit costing analysis
- Develop reports for deep dive costing analysis from rostering system as well as Tech One financial system
- Revenue (HCP, NDIS, STRC) analysis
- Other month end reportingWork with Business Unit Managers and other finance staff to ensure prompt delivery of various month end reports
**Partnering**:
- Work in partnership with business stakeholders to influence decision making by identifying opportunities and solutions as well as risks
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Engage with the Business Units to ensure business opportunities are identified and establish the right pricing in new markets
- Facilitate effective collaboration and knowledge sharing across business stakeholders
- Assist the business units in evaluating profitability of new programs, products and services
- Assist the business units with sustainability of existing programs especially responding to changes in Government regulations
- Assist the Business Units with various pricing scenarios
- Contribute to the development and delivery of a finance education program that improves financial literacy, business acumen and accountability within the division and broader organisation
