About the Role
At our Hallam manufacturing plant, we are passionate about bringing families together with our ready to eat cake treats, creating moments of joy.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Industrial Electrician to join our dynamic maintenance team. This position is ideally suited to an experienced tradesperson with strong PLC and automation skills who is also mechanically capable. What We're Looking For
* Experienced Industrial Electrician with PLC and automation expertise with industrial and automation knowledge.
* A background in FMCG environments, especially with high-speed packaging equipment
Key Skills & Experience
* Unrestricted Electrical Licence (Victorian A-Grade licence required).
* Proficient in electrical fault finding; able to replace contactors, relays, field devices, etc.
* Experience programming drives, scanners, and electronic control modules.
* Skilled in troubleshooting PLCs and diagnosing faults in control systems.
* Strong problem-solving ability to diagnose and repair both electrical and mechanical faults.
* Experience carrying out equipment audits and preventative maintenance tasks.
* Mechanical skills including lubrication, belt tracking, and replacing bearings, chains, belts, motors, and gearboxes.
* Proactive approach to reducing downtime, minimising waste, and improving system reliability.
* Ability to identify and implement operational and equipment improvement opportunities through root cause analysis.
* Support the implementation of improvement projects in a maintenance setting.
* Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
* Mechanically savvy – experience maintaining mechanical and pneumatic systems is essential.
* Solid understanding of industrial controls (PLC's, VFD's, HMI's, etc.).
* Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Highly Regarded Skills
* Sound experience using Microsoft Office applications with strong report writing skills.
* Previous exposure to computerised maintenance systems (such as MEX) will be looked upon favourably.
