Therapy Assistant

We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-driven individual to join our team as a casual therapy assistant. The role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with the elderly and wants to make a difference in their lives.

The position is located at our premium 140 bed residential aged care facility, which offers a range of lifestyle and therapy activities for our residents.

">

In this role, you will work closely with our physiotherapist and occupational therapist to provide mobility and exercise programs, recreational and therapeutic activity programs, and participate in the organisation and planning of therapy programs.

">

You will also be responsible for delivering a range of therapy-based activity programs as directed and completing accurate documentation in line with relevant guidelines.

">

A key part of the role is accompanying resident groups on outings, providing opportunities for socialisation and enjoyment.

Requirements of the role

">

To be successful in this role, you will need to hold a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or higher/equivalent and have experience in a similar role preferred (Occupational Therapist Assistant or Physiotherapist Assistant).

You will also need strong organisational and time management skills, demonstrated ability to lead and coach staff to deliver quality lifestyle and therapy activities, sound written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, empathy with the elderly, and full Australian working rights and able to pass a national police clearance.
