Senior | Principal Planner – Sunshine Coast
RPS is seeking an experienced Town Planner to join our Sunshine Coast team and play a key role in the continued growth and success of our planning business.
This opportunity is suited to a senior planning professional who is looking to take the next step in their career and contribute to the leadership, direction and growth of an established and highly regarded planning practice.
We are open to speaking with candidates currently operating at Senior Planner/Associate, Principal or Senior Principal level who are looking for an opportunity to make a genuine impact within a collaborative and growing team environment.
The opportunity
Based on the Sunshine Coast, you will work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team delivering a diverse range of planning projects across the region and broader Queensland market.
This role offers the opportunity to:
* Deliver and manage a broad range of planning and development projects
* Build and strengthen client relationships across the Sunshine Coast region
* Contribute to the ongoing growth and reputation of the planning business
* Be part of the senior leadership group within the Sunshine Coast office
* Mentor and support emerging team members
* Work collaboratively with professionals across planning, landscape architecture, urban design and engineering
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical planning expertise with business development, client engagement and leadership responsibilities.
About you
You are a commercially minded planning professional with strong technical capability and a collaborative approach.
You will bring:
* 8 - 10 years’+ experience in town planning
* Strong experience managing development applications and statutory planning processes
* Sound knowledge of Queensland planning legislation and frameworks
* Consultancy experience will be highly regarded
* Sunshine Coast or broader South East Queensland experience is desirable but not essential
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
* A proactive approach to business development and client relationship management
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or a related discipline
