This senior role leads the Risk Governance team to embed the Enterprise‐wide Risk Management Framework and Strategy across South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD), one of the largest, most diverse and fastest‐growing communities in NSW. As a senior risk leader, the Risk Governance Manager enables risk‐informed decision‐making across the organisation and is responsible for managing, monitoring and reporting on the Enterprise‐wide Risk Management Framework, including delivery of key outcomes and milestones under the risk strategy.

The position provides expert risk leadership, advice and training on risk management principles, practices and programs, while championing a proactive, opportunity‐focused risk culture across SWSLHD. By fostering strong engagement and capability in risk management, the Risk Governance Manager supports the effective identification and management of risks and opportunities, ensuring strategic and operational objectives are achieved in alignment with the District's risk appetite and tolerance.

Are You the Right Fit?
The ideal candidate will bring extensive risk management or governance‐related experience gained within a large, complex and/or highly regulated organisation, with a strong understanding of the challenges and expectations of such environments. They will possess a sound working knowledge of risk management policies, guidelines and relevant standards, together with demonstrated experience applying risk management principles and practices at an enterprise level. This role will suit an experienced governance professional who is motivated to make a meaningful difference to the health sector and the diverse South Western Sydney community by driving effective, practical and impactful risk management practices.

Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.

* A qualification in risk management and/or 5 years demonstrated extensive experience managing risk in a senior role or relevant governance related experience in a large, complex or highly regulated organisation in addition to relevant professional training or certification.
* Outline a good working knowledge of risk management policies, guidelines and relevant standards in addition to demonstrated experience in the application of the principles and practices of risk management.
* Provide examples that demonstrate your well-developed oral and written communication, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Demonstrated analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility.
* Describe your experience in designing and developing risk management tools, programs, reports and training content.
* Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
