A respected client is seeking a Supplier Management Specialist to join its procurement team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who thrives on building strategic supplier partnerships, enhancing onboarding processes, and driving continuous improvement across the supply base. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring suppliers deliver on quality, service and compliance expectations, while influencing best practice across the organisation.
Key Duties
* Manage the global supplier database and maintain accurate supplier records
* Oversee the end-to-end onboarding process for potential suppliers
* Develop and implement a supplier management strategy
* Collate and verify onboarding documentation
* Measure and evaluate supplier and buyer performance against service level expectations
* Develop and manage supplier orientation and risk-mitigation programmes
* Implement governance structures, communication frameworks and onboarding programmes
* Conduct supplier business reviews, track KPIs and deliver performance evaluations
* Lead decision-making in high-risk agreement escalations
* Monitor agreement performance and report on business outcomes
* Manage suppliers in line with recognition and performance programmes
* Work closely with Category Management to highlight risks and improvement opportunities
* Ensure compliance with procedures and liaise with Legal on deviations
* Monitor the supplier environment to identify trends and risks
* Gather and analyse feedback to enhance supplier service delivery
* Coach stakeholders on setting and optimising supplier performance objectives
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Commerce, Operations Management, BPM, Analytics, IT or equivalent
* MCIPS, PMP or SCMP desirable
* 1–3 years' experience in Supplier Management (advantageous)
* Ability to develop SLAs and select contract performance measures aligned to TCO and business needs
* Experience managing supplier performance and contract changes
* Proficiency in D, AX and Excel
* Basic knowledge of strategic sourcing and business sustainability policies, including BBBEE
* Strong project management, relationship-building and communication skills
* Ability to influence, drive continuous improvement and negotiate effectively with stakeholders
