Overview
Lachlan Shire Council is recruiting a Work Health and Safety Officer for a full-time position. This role assists management in exercising 'due diligence' by providing broad organisational support in developing and implementing Council's overall safety management system. The role involves the development and auditing of workplace practices to ensure adherence to policy and procedure throughout the organisation to meet the expectations of the community in providing a safe workplace.
To Be Successful You Must Obtain
* Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or working towards
* Construction Induction Certificate (white card)
* sound knowledge of WHS and Workers Compensation Legislation
* experience in working in the Work Health and safety/Risk field
* highly developed written and verbal communication skills
* excellent customer service skills
* strong computer literacy
* current Class 'C' Drivers Licence

Benefits
* The salary range is $2,989.02 to $3,529.45 per fortnight
* Starting salary to be determined upon the qualifications and experience of successful applicant.
* The position is Grade 10-11 within Council's Salary Structure
* Working 76 hours per fortnight with a rostered day off (9 Day fortnight)
