About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Disability Support Worker to join our Supported Independent Living home in Victoria. This is a dynamic opportunity to work in a sleepover model home supporting individuals with complex needs. You will work closely with a dedicated team to promote independence, wellbeing, and meaningful participation in community and home life.
Key Responsibilities:
* Implement support plans based on individual needs, preferences, and interests
* Support daily living activities including personal care, medication management, and household tasks
* Aid individuals to participate in chosen activities such as social events, work, and appointments
* Promote personal choice and control for the individual
* Assist with personal care, hygiene, and household duties such as cleaning, cooking, and washing
* Administer medication
Qualifications and Experience:
* Cert 4 of Disability or equivalent qualification (Highly advantageous)
* Experience with complex behaviors
* Experience with psychosocial and neurological disabilities preferred
* Experience with manual handling
* A passion for enabling and working with people
* Desire for meaningful work and comfortable providing daily living support
* Willingness to learn new skills, undertake ongoing training
* Willingness to work as part of a team
You will also bring with you or be willing to obtain:
* NDIS Worker screening Check
* Working with Children Check
* Unrestricted Australian Driver's License
* Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination status, including booster
* Current First Aid Certificate with CPR
