About the Role

The Perpetrator Family Violence Case Manager is responsible for delivering individual case management services to adults who use family violence (perpetrators) to increase safety for victim survivors (including children) and to support the client to take accountability for their use of violence.

The Case Manager provides education, information and support to clients, with a commitment to a gender-informed and intersectional approach. The case manager undertakes assessments, delivers tailored casework and liaises with other workers and agencies to ensure that safety remains at the forefront of the program, in alignment with local, state and national guidelines and frameworks.

This position reports to the Manager Family Violence and works within the Family Violence Team. It is also expected that this position works within the larger Primary Care Connect team and network with external organisations.


Key Selection Criteria

* Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent, or relevant qualifications and a willingness to work towards an equivalent qualification as set out in Mandatory minimum qualifications for specialist family violence practitioners
* Graduate Certificate in Client Assessment and Case Management or willingness to undertake.
* Extensive knowledge of family violence frameworks, including:
* The gendered nature and drivers of family violence
* Child safety and wellbeing
* Risk assessment and management in a family violence context using the MARAM framework
* Demonstrated experience engaging perpetrators of family violence, including working with resistance, denial and minimisation, and maintaining a focus on accountability and responsibility for use of violence.
* Experience in providing assessments, care planning, service coordination and referrals
* High-level written and verbal communication skills, including accurate documentation aligned with legislative and privacy requirements.
* Experience using technology to complete daily work tasks.
