About The Role
This leadership role will be responsible for delivering asset management accounting services, including the preparation and presentation of statutory and internal reports. It involves developing strong stakeholder relationships across the organization, working collaboratively to enhance the cost-effectiveness and efficiency of the Council's asset portfolio. The position aims to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have
* Bachelor degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or related field, or demonstrated solid experience in a similar role with ongoing professional development.
* Extensive experience in a similar role within a large organization using complex financial systems, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
* Experience in asset and capital project accounting, managing large and complex data sets with a team.
* Experience ensuring compliance with legislation in a highly regulated industry.
* Knowledge of asset accounting standards, legislation, and reporting frameworks relevant to Local Government, including Australian Accounting Standards and other legislative acts.
* Proven ability to deliver timely and accurate financial reports, conduct variance analysis, investigations, and recommend sustainable solutions.
* Strong performance improvement and consultation skills.
* Leadership qualities, including communication, performance management, business strategy, diversity, coaching, mentoring, and change management.
Additional Information
* Starting salary up to $103,568.08, with progression opportunities up to $119,987.18 plus 11.5% superannuation.
* Temporary full-time role with a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working options (2 days remote, 3 days onsite).
* Location at Wyong Administration Building.
