* Permanent, full-time, part-time or casual opportunities available – up to 38 hours per week
* Attractive weekly salary: permanent employment $1,317.80 to $1,635.00; casuals $43.35 to $53.78 per hour (including 25% leave loading)
* Plus retention payments under the Local Government Splinter Award to reward ongoing contribution to the Early Childhood Education and Care sector

At Moree Plains Shire Council, we are seeking a passionate, attentive, and strong leader to join our team as a Group Leader at Gwydir Day Care and Preschool. If you are dedicated to providing high-quality early childhood education and enjoy mentoring others to create nurturing learning spaces, we want to hear from you.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Early Childhood Teacher, you will lead the provision of education and care within a designated room. This role is essential for creating supportive environments and building strong partnerships with families to ensure every child's learning and cultural needs are met.
Responsibilities
* Leading high-quality care in accordance with National Regulations and the National Quality Standard
* Implementing educational programs that reflect the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
* Applying intentional teaching strategies to shape children's interests and learning
* Mentoring and supporting educators and placement students
* Maintaining respectful relationships with children and supporting emotional development
* Ensuring a safe and hygienic environment, including supervision, first aid, and dietary considerations
* Promoting record-keeping for child assessments, injury reports, and medication forms
* Advocating for child protection as a mandated reporter

About You
You are a calm and composed professional with excellent interpersonal skills. You have a proven ability to develop creative programs and provide feedback to families and team members with professionalism and confidentiality.
To succeed in this role, you'll bring
* Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or currently working towards it) and experience with children aged 8 weeks to 5 years
* Strong supervisory skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders
* Excellent organisational skills to evaluate and record children's development
* Working knowledge of the National Quality Framework and relevant Child Safety regulations
* Proven ability to develop stimulating programs for varied interests
Required Tickets, Licences and/or Qualifications:
* Must be 18 years or older with Year 12 or equivalent
* Current HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting (including Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management)
Desirable Criteria
* Previous experience as a Group Leader in an early childcare environment
* Current Class C Driver's Licence (NSW)
Required Clearances and Checks
* Working with Children Check (NSW)
* National Criminal History Check
* Pre-employment medical (may include drug and alcohol testing)
* Vaccinations/immunisations as required (e.g., Whooping Cough, MMR, Hepatitis A)
