This is a contract role for a Lead Artist in an Australian-themed base-builder/tycoon game for PC. The role is remote, with the freedom to work from anywhere within Queensland (preferred). The Lead Artist will oversee the design and visual style of the game, working closely with the Lead Developer, Creative Director and Producer. Day-to-day tasks include asset design and creation, leading a team of mid level artists, and collaborating with the team to make the game as appealing and smooth to play as possible.
Current, early-stage prototyping has been done in Unity but this is a green-field project and we want to work with you to decide on best tools and practices. Early estimated project length is 4-6 months to vertical slice, with the option to extend for another 8-12 months beyond that.
Qualifications
* Strong skills in Game Art and experience in Unity
* Experience in Game Design a plus
* Excellent problem-solving and creative skills
* Ability to lead a small team effectively
* 5+ years of industry experience, including shipped titles.
