The Opportunity
Join this growing and expanding agency in a newly created role where you will have the opportunity to contribute to how best to optimise the financial system and also improving current processes. This opportunity is being offered as a section 26 transfer or 12 month non-ongoing contract.
You'll be joining a supportive and collaborative team with a positive culture, led by an experienced manager. The organisation also offers flexible working arrangements to support a healthy work-life balance.
The Role
* Be part of the team to deliver annual financial statements and the Annual Report, working closely with auditors and external advisors
* Play a key role in whole-of-government reporting including MYEFO, PAES and Portfolio Budget Statements
* Contribute to the annual budget and forward estimates, partnering with key stakeholders
* Manage CBMS updates, indexation changes and new budget measures with precision and confidence
* Provide high-quality financial and appropriation information for Senate Estimates and other parliamentary requirements
The Ideal Person
You're likely working for another government department delivering financial statements, this role requires someone who can quickly get across the work requirements.
Alternatively, this could suit someone who has worked as an external auditor and is looking to transition to the other side of the desk.
You will be degree-qualified and hold CA/CPA qualifications.
Strong analytical skills, forward-thinking, and excellent written and verbal communication are essential.
You are often the go-to person in your organisation for providing solutions to problems or identifying opportunities to improve processes.
Applicants MUST be Australian Citizens with an existing Baseline security clearance to be considered for this opportunity.
Salary / Rate
* $115k - $135k + Super or salary match for existing APS employees
