We're working with a globally active automation business delivering large-scale materials handling, robotic, chilling and freezing systems to major food and logistics operators worldwide. With strong growth in their service division, they're looking for a hands-on Mechanical Service Technician to support critical automated assets across ANZ and internationally.
This is a field-based, customer-facing role where no two weeks look the same. You'll carry out preventative maintenance, fault-finding and breakdown support on complex automated systems, working both independently and alongside site teams. The position can be based anywhere in Australia or New Zealand (Brisbane, Auckland or Christchurch preferred), with regular domestic and international travel required - including up to 26 weekends per year away, sometimes at short notice.
Responsibilities
* Perform preventative maintenance, fault-finding and breakdown support on complex automated systems in field environments.
* Work independently and with site teams to ensure optimal system performance.
* Travel as required across Australia, New Zealand and internationally.
What You'll Bring
* Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting or Industrial Refrigeration with post-trade experience
* Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capability
* Experience in chilling, freezing or food processing equipment (advantageous)
* A practical, solutions-focused mindset
* Strong communication skills and confidence in customer-facing environments
* Valid passport and ability to travel globally
