The Opportunity
As we expand our project pipeline, spare parts division, and service offerings, we are seeking an experienced Finance Manager / Financial Controller ready to step into a role with broad responsibility, autonomy, and have real commercial impact. Working closely with the General Manager, you will lead financial operations, build robust financial systems, and provide strategic insight to support the next stage of Stantil's growth.
This role is ideal for someone who is forward thinking, commercially minded and looking to move toward a CFO career pathway within an innovative, growing company.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership
* Lead all aspects of the company's financial direction and planning.
* Lead a small finance team.
* Deliver timely and accurate reporting, forecasting, and financial analysis to the leadership team.
* Strengthen financial governance, processes, and internal controls.
* Provide strategic advice directly to the GM.
Commercial & Operational Finance
* Partner with engineering, operations, and sales to drive margin improvement and commercial decisions.
* Oversee job costing, WIP management, pricing models, progress claims, and project cashflow.
* Support pricing strategies for equipment, spares, service contracts, and special terms such as extended warranties and cancellation schedules.
* Analyse cost structures and support the company's strategic development.
Financial Control & Compliance
* Manage full financial operations including AP/AR, payroll, tax compliance, cashflow, and procurement controls.
* Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory obligations, and audit requirements.
* Oversee inventory and stock management to support growth in the spare parts and maintenance business.
Growth & Strategic Support
* Develop long-term financial models, scenario planning, and capital requirement forecasts.
* Lead improvements and automation within our internal systems.
* Play a key role in strategic initiatives and continuous improvement across the business.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications & Experience
* CPA qualified (preferred).
* 5+ years in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, or senior management accounting role.
* Experience in engineering, manufacturing, mining services, or project-based environments.
* Strong financial modelling, forecasting, and job costing capability.
* ERP experience (MYOB Advanced, Pronto, SAP B1, NetSuite or similar).
Personal Attributes
* Ambitious, proactive, and commercially minded.
* Comfortable owning the finance function and working as part of the senior leadership.
* Strong communicator who can work effectively with operational and technical teams.
